RAMI BRIMO SHOCKS GLASGOW WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT BEHIND PARNIE STREET FLAT
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Glasgow community, Rami Brimo, a man from Springburn, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a young woman in a flat located behind Parnie Street, near the Saltmarket area of Glasgow. The incident took place in October 2017, and the details of the attack reveal a troubling pattern of predatory behavior.
According to court reports, Brimo targeted a vulnerable victim at her residence, where he engaged in a sexual assault that included molestation and physical struggle.
The assault escalated when Brimo removed the woman’s trousers, indicating a clear intent to commit a sexual offense.
The victim’s account described a frightening encounter, which left her traumatized and deeply affected.
Brimo, aged 27 at the time of the trial, initially denied any involvement in the attack.
Despite his denial, the evidence presented during the trial at the High Court in Glasgow was sufficient to secure a conviction.
The court proceedings concluded on a Thursday, with the jury or judge finding Brimo guilty of the charges brought against him.
Prosecutor Euan Cameron highlighted during the case that Brimo was a first-time offender, which may influence considerations for sentencing.
Following the verdict, the court scheduled the sentencing for March 23 in Edinburgh.
Until then, Lord Burns ordered that Brimo be remanded in custody, citing the seriousness of the offense and the need to ensure public safety.
The judge explicitly stated, “In light of the offence, I have to remand you in custody until that time,” emphasizing the gravity of the crime committed in the heart of Glasgow’s Saltmarket district.
