RAHAT SHEIKH SENTENCED IN AYLESBURY FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN MILTON KEYNES

In May 2014, Rahat Sheikh, a 53-year-old resident of Edgecote, Great Holm, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison and received a 10-year sexual offences prevention order for sexually assaulting a young girl. Sheikh was convicted at Amersham Crown Court on February 21 after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault against a female under the age of 13.
The offences took place on June 24, 2013, in the Milton Keynes area, involving a 10-year-old girl. Sheikh was arrested and formally charged with these crimes on September 20, 2013.
Following his sentencing on May 2 at Aylesbury Crown Court, Detective Constable Mark Richardson from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit commented, “Sheikh betrayed the trust of an innocent young girl and sexually assaulted her. Everyone involved in the prosecution is indebted to the victim’s courage and determination for giving evidence in court against this person.”
