QUISAR YOUSAF FROM COVENTRY JAILED FOR ATTEMPTED SEXUAL MEET WITH TEENAGER
In a case that has shocked the Coventry community, Quisar Yousaf, a 25-year-old man originally from Pakistan, was sentenced to prison in September 2015 after attempting to engage in a sexual encounter with a teenage girl.Yousaf had overstayed his visa, making his presence in the UK illegal, and he believed he was arranging to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Unbeknownst to him, the entire interaction was orchestrated by a vigilant online group that set up a fake profile to catch potential offenders.
The group’s operation was designed to protect minors from predators by luring individuals like Yousaf into traps.
When Yousaf arrived at the designated meeting point in Coventry, he was promptly arrested by authorities.
Following his arrest, Yousaf faced charges of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.
His conviction was confirmed in court, leading to a sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment.
In addition to his jail term, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure intended to monitor his activities and prevent further harm.
Plans are also in place for Yousaf’s deportation once he completes his sentence, as part of the UK government’s efforts to remove individuals who pose a threat to public safety and have overstayed their visas.
