TRAGIC MURDER OF 8-YEAR-OLD AYISHA ALI BY POLLY CHOWDHURY AND KIKI MUDDAR IN EAST LONDON

In a heartbreaking case that has shocked the community of east London, a mother and her female lover have been convicted of the brutal killing of an eight-year-old girl named Ayesha Ali.

The tragic events unfolded in 2013, with the young girl found dead in her bedroom, bearing more than 50 injuries that included bite marks, bruises, abrasions, and carpet burns.

The details of her suffering reveal a disturbing pattern of prolonged abuse and torture that ultimately led to her death.

On the morning of August 29, 2013, emergency services responded to a distress call made by Kiki Muddar, 43, who reported that Polly Chowdhury, 35, had attempted to take her own life in the bath, and that Ayesha was dead.

Paramedics arrived to find the young girl, dressed only in pink pants, lying cold and stiff in her bedroom.

Although the immediate cause of death was identified as a head injury, the post-mortem examination uncovered over 40 injuries, including a bite mark, carpet burns, and fresh bruising across her head, limbs, and torso.

Investigations revealed that Ayesha had endured months of severe abuse and psychological torment.

Evidence uncovered during the trial indicated that the girl was subjected to terrifying nighttime episodes involving frightening masks worn by those entrusted with her care.

Weighing just three and a half stone and standing at 4 feet 7 inches tall, Ayesha was physically unable to resist the violence inflicted upon her.

Polly Chowdhury, who was sentenced to 13 years for manslaughter, had left behind a series of notes that appeared to admit her involvement in her daughter’s death, including a chilling statement: “I have taken my life and Ayesha’s life.” However, police investigations uncovered further evidence implicating Kiki Muddar, who was sentenced to 18 years for her role in the crime.

The authorities found letters written by Chowdhury in her bedroom, which, along with digital evidence, revealed a disturbing web of manipulation and control.

The police uncovered a series of Facebook alter egos and text messages created by Muddar to influence Chowdhury’s perceptions and actions.

One such alias was “spirit guide Skyman,” used by Muddar to manipulate Chowdhury into believing that Ayesha was possessed by “evil spirits” and needed to be disciplined.

This manipulation led Chowdhury to believe that her daughter was a threat, and she was convinced that harsh punishment was necessary to rid her of supposed evil influences.

The trial heard that the women subjected Ayesha to cold baths, force-fed her until she was sick, and made her scrub the bathroom floor in an attempt to exorcise the “evil spirits.” Further evidence showed that Chowdhury had befriended Muddar when they lived next door to each other in Bedwell Court, Broomfield Road, Romford.

Muddar had gained Chowdhury’s sympathy by pretending to be battling cancer, which helped her gain trust and influence over her.

The tragic consequences of this manipulation were devastating for Ayesha, whose father expressed his inability to forgive his former wife for falling under the spell of their “evil” neighbor.

In a haunting discovery, a letter written by Ayesha in her own childlike handwriting was found.

Despite her young age, the letter was remarkably well-written and revealed the extent of her suffering.

She expressed remorse for her behavior, writing, “I don’t like hurting other people’s feelings,” and lamented her punishments, stating, “I hate getting punishments so I’m gonna make sure I change.” The letter also included a list of behaviors she considered “bad,” such as “huffing and puffing,” “telling lies,” “being rude,” and “not putting my shoes in the right place,” alongside a list of “good” behaviors like “finishing my jam sandwich on time” and “being kind to everyone.” As the case concludes, both Polly Chowdhury and Kiki Muddar are set to be sentenced on the upcoming Friday, marking the end of a tragic chapter that highlights the devastating effects of manipulation, abuse, and neglect within a family.

The community continues to mourn the loss of Ayesha Ali, whose young life was cruelly cut short amidst a web of lies and cruelty in east London.
