PHILLIP JACKSON AND SHOCKING CHILD GROOMING IN WEST SUSSEX
A convicted paedophile, Phillip Jackson, has been sentenced to four years in prison after orchestrating a disturbing case of online grooming involving a 12-year-old girl in West Sussex.Jackson, aged 38 and a landscape gardener from Wisborough Green, created a fake social media profile to deceive and manipulate the young girl.
He impersonated a member of the popular band Bars and Melody, which gained fame through the television talent show Britain’s Got Talent.
His deception was part of a calculated effort to establish a relationship with the girl and exploit her.
The grooming began in 2014, when Jackson initiated contact with the girl through the fake Facebook account.
Over the course of their online interactions, he sent her indecent images of himself, attempting to normalize and encourage inappropriate behavior.
As their communication continued, Jackson persuaded the girl to send him nude photographs, further crossing the boundaries of legality and morality.
The girl’s mother became suspicious of her daughter’s online activity and took immediate action by notifying the police.
Law enforcement officials responded swiftly, arresting Jackson and seizing his electronic devices.
During the investigation, officers discovered more than 500 indecent images of children stored on Jackson’s laptop, revealing a disturbing pattern of possession and distribution of child exploitation material.
Following a thorough investigation, Jackson was charged and subsequently found guilty of two serious offenses: inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children.
These convictions were handed down earlier this month, culminating in his four-year imprisonment sentence.
In addition to his jail term, Jackson will be subject to lifelong registration as a sex offender, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his future interactions with children.
Furthermore, he was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which imposes strict limitations on his access to minors and his use of computers and internet-enabled devices, aiming to prevent any further harm.
This case highlights the ongoing dangers posed by online predators and underscores the importance of vigilance among parents and guardians to protect children from exploitation in digital spaces.
