BIRMINGHAM THUG PUNCHED GIRLFRIEND IN THE FACE FOR LYING ABOUT WHEREABOUTS
A thug punched his girlfriend in the face for lying about where she had been the previous night.
Collins assaulted his partner and then struck her female friend after she tried to intervene, Birmingham Crown Court heard.
Beforehand he had smashed doors in a rage fuelled by four cans of cider.
Collins admitted to common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of criminal damage, harassment, and threats to cause criminal damage.
On Thursday, October 9, he was sentenced to 10 months but was told he could be released immediately or in a few days due to the time already served.
Despite bail conditions ordering him to keep away from his partner, Collins contacted her again on June 6 and attended her home uninvited, asking for money.
He also sent a video threatening to destroy her property and re-arrested.
He has 23 previous convictions for 41 offences including theft, burglary, robbery, assaults, and criminal damage.
The court considered his past and his engagement with probation, but warned him about the dangers of repeating such violence.
Judge Drew, who passed the sentence, highlighted the incident as a case of domestic abuse that "got completely out of control," noting the victim played down the events but expressing concern about the potential for future harm.
