PHILLIP CAST FROM TILBURY SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGER

Phillip Cast, a man from Tilbury, has been convicted of sexually abusing a teenage girl during a period spanning from 2014 to 2016.

The serious case was brought before Basildon Crown Court, where the 48-year-old offender was sentenced on Wednesday, March 4, to serve a term of eight years in prison.

The investigation into Cast’s criminal activities began in September 2019, when police officers received credible information indicating his involvement in the offences.

Acting swiftly, law enforcement officials arrested Cast, conducted detailed interviews, and collected electronic evidence from his phone, which played a crucial role in establishing his guilt.

During the police interrogations, Cast did not deny the allegations.

Instead, he admitted to the crimes he had committed, providing authorities with a clear acknowledgment of his actions.

This confession contributed significantly to the court’s decision to impose a substantial prison sentence.

In addition to his prison term, Cast will be subject to a five-year period of licence supervision following his release.

Furthermore, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions aimed at protecting the community.

To further safeguard the public, Cast has also been placed under a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in effect for five years.
