PHILIP TOLLITT PETERBOROUGH PAEDOPHILE TEACHER ACCUSED OF MULTIPLE VICTIMS IN WALTHAMSTOW
In March 2017, authorities issued a stark warning regarding Philip Tollitt, a convicted paedophile teacher whose actions may have affected more children than initially known.Tollitt, aged 63, was sentenced to a two-year prison term after being found guilty of assaulting a 15-year-old girl at McEntee School in Walthamstow.
The assault reportedly took place in the year 2000, but police investigations suggest that this may not have been an isolated incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Jimmick emphasized the possibility of additional victims, stating, “We are not certain that the victim in this case was the only person groomed by Philip Tollitt.
I appeal to anyone who has suffered as a result of this man’s offending to contact police as soon as possible.
It doesn’t matter that many years have passed since the offences occurred.
This case demonstrates that we will continue to investigate cases such as this no matter how much time has elapsed.
I hope that Tollitt’s conviction and subsequent imprisonment will encourage anyone suffering in silence to come forward and speak to police.” Following his conviction, Tollitt, who has since relocated to Apethorpe in Peterborough, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, February 24.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who believes they may have been victimized by Tollitt to come forward, emphasizing that justice can be pursued regardless of the passage of time.
