WESTON SEXUAL PREDATOR JAILED FOR SERIOUS ABUSE
A man from Weston named Philip Denford, aged 28, has received a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences.On July 26, at Bristol Crown Court, he was handed an extended sentence of seven years, with five years to be served in custody.
The charges against him include a total of 12 sexual offences committed over 2016 and 2018, which encompass six counts of sexual assault against a minor, two counts of causing a child to participate in sexual acts, along with charges related to possessing illegal images of children and viewing extreme pornographic material.
Denford admitted to four of these charges and was proven guilty on the other eight.
As part of his sentencing, he is now on the sex offenders' register and subject to an indefinite sexual health protection order.
Authorities also confiscated and destroyed his Apple MacBook laptop, and he was ordered to pay a £120 victim surcharge.
Police described Denford as a dangerous, predatory individual whose actions warranted a substantial custodial sentence.
They praised the bravery of the victim in coming forward, emphasizing that the sentence aims to reassure others that the police will conduct thorough investigations and seek justice in such cases.
