Newcastle Sexual Abuser
Phil Taylor, a well-known professional darts player, has been convicted of indecent assault involving two young women inside his motorhome following an exhibition event. One of the victims, a 23-year-old woman employed as an administration officer, testified that she was subjected to sexual misconduct after a drinking challenge at a hotel in Leslie, Fife, on October 10, 1999.
According to her account, Taylor, who provided his address as the Cricketers Arms, Maybank, Newcastle under Lyme, engaged with the women over drinks and challenged them to a drinking contest, which she won four times. After the contest, Taylor, who was in his vehicle with her friend and driver Mick Connor, attempted to kiss her. He then proceeded to unfasten her trousers and bra, and fondled her breasts.
Taylor denied the allegations, stating, "I am deeply hurt by the young ladies' allegations. I'm just not that type of person."
