VICIOUS GLOUCESTER RAPE OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS
Petru-Marian Bradu, who is 19 years old, received a sentence of 11 years in prison following his conviction for an attack and sexual assault on a woman in Gloucester.The assault took place on 23 July 2019, during which Bradu rendered his victim unconscious through punching before carrying out the assault.
The court was informed that Bradu denied the allegations but was convicted after a jury quickly reached a unanimous verdict in under an hour.
The incident was characterized as particularly brutal, with Bradu targeting a stranger.
His address was listed as Barton Street, Gloucester.
Prosecutors presented DNA evidence that linked Bradu to the crime, following his initial arrest for assault in December 2019.
Gloucestershire Police’s rape and serious sexual offences unit successfully matched the DNA to Bradu, resulting in his conviction for rape and assault.
Detective Constable Steve Martin highlighted the unusual occurrence of stranger rapes in Gloucestershire, stressing the victim’s suffering and the seriousness of the case.
The judge mandated that Bradu serve at least two-thirds of his sentence, after which he will be registered as a sex offender for life.
