In May 2013, a disturbing case unfolded at Canterbury Crown Court involving Peter Tyler, a 54-year-old man from Millmead Road, Margate, who was convicted of a series of heinous sexual offenses against two young girls. The court heard that Tyler had engaged in a prolonged and calculated campaign of sexual abuse targeting vulnerable children, actions that shocked the local community and drew widespread condemnation.

Throughout the trial, Tyler attempted to defend himself by claiming that his sexual interests were exclusively homosexual and that he had no inclination towards girls.
