PETER STEVENS FROM BARNSTAPLE CAUGHT WITH NEARLY 400 HORRIFIC ANIMAL SEX FILMS AND CHILD IMAGES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Barnstaple, 72-year-old Peter Stevens has admitted to possessing a large collection of highly disturbing and illegal material. The pensioner, residing at Poltimore Lawn in Barnstaple, was found to have downloaded and stored nearly 400 videos depicting explicit acts involving animals, which are considered to be grossly offensive and morally repugnant. The authorities revealed that Stevens pleaded guilty to the possession of a total of 460 extreme images, of which 391 were videos. These materials were described in court as explicitly portraying individuals engaging in sexual acts with animals, including acts of intercourse and oral sex. Such content is not only morally reprehensible but also illegal under current laws governing obscene material and animal cruelty.
In addition to the animal abuse material, Stevens also admitted to possessing 29 prohibited images of children. These images were not photographs but rather drawings, which nonetheless are classified as illegal under child exploitation laws. The case also involved allegations that Stevens made three separate counts of making indecent images of children, with the images and videos dating from May 2010 to October of the previous year. These counts include 18 images and two videos categorized as the most serious, Category A, along with 62 images falling into lower categories.
During the court proceedings, Recorder Mr. Martin Meeke, QC, decided to adjourn the case for a trial on the charges related to the indecent images of children. Stevens was released on bail pending further legal action. The case has raised serious concerns about the presence of such illegal and disturbing material within the community of Barnstaple, prompting law enforcement to continue their investigation into the extent of Stevens's activities.
