PETER SHARMAN OF OSWESTRY JAILED FOR RAPE OF 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN SHROPSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the community of Oswestry and the wider Shropshire region, Peter Sharman, a 48-year-old former police officer, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of heinous crimes involving a young girl.
The incident dates back to March 1998, when Sharman was found guilty of abusing an 11-year-old girl, with the court hearing that the abuse had begun when the victim was only nine years old.
Sharman, who resided in Weston Rhyn, Oswestry, was brought before Birmingham Crown Court to face charges related to the sexual abuse of the young girl.
The court heard detailed accounts of the abuse, which spanned over a period of time, and included multiple counts of rape.
