In March 2017, Peter Perrins, a 73-year-old man from Lichfield Road in Stone, was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences involving two underage girls. The court also mandated that Perrins be placed on the sex offenders register for life and issued a sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future interactions with children.

The sentencing took place at Stafford Crown Court, where Perrins pleaded guilty to six separate sexual offences. These crimes spanned over several years, with three of the offences occurring between September 2015 and March 2016, involving a particularly vulnerable girl who frequently visited his home. During these visits, Perrins would often give her sweets, money, and on one occasion, perfume, as part of what the court described as grooming behavior.
