PETER JOHNSON FROM KENT CAUGHT USING FAKE ONLINE PROFILE TO GROOM TEENAGE GIRL
A man registered as a sex offender from Kent has been apprehended for attempting to groom and exploit a minor through deceptive online activity.Peter Johnson, who previously resided in Tunbridge Wells, was found to have violated the restrictions imposed by the courts after his earlier conviction.
His latest actions involved creating a false online persona to contact a teenage girl, which ultimately led to his arrest and conviction.
Johnson, who was formerly known by the name Peter Austen, had a criminal record dating back to 2017 when he was convicted of possessing indecent images of children.
As part of his sentence, he received a suspended prison term and was placed on the sex offender register for a decade.
Despite these legal measures, Johnson continued to engage in illegal activities, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the restrictions placed upon him.
