Peter Greenslade Child Sexual Abuser in Devonburn

A man from Devon has been sentenced in connection with serious sexual crimes involving two children.

Peter Greenslade, 57, of Bridford in Devon, received his sentence at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, 15 September, after being found guilty at trial of nine counts of rape, along with two counts of indecent assault and two sexual assaults on a child under 13.

The judge, Anna Richardson, sentenced him to 22 years in prison for offenses that occurred in the Honiton district.

Throughout the trial, it was disclosed that in 2019, one victim publicly disclosed the rapes and sexual abuse she endured as a child by Greenslade.

Subsequently, a second victim also came forward, describing similar abuse experienced when he was a child and under Greenslade’s alleged control.

Greenslade denied all accusations during police interviews; however, his explanations were rejected by the jury during the court proceedings.

The victims continue to suffer serious psychological effects from the abuse.

DC Jon Stephens from the Public Protection Unit commented: “Peter Greenslade poses a real danger and has avoided justice for many years.

“We want to thank the victims for their courage in coming forward and believe they can now move past this chapter.

This case reinforces that it’s never too late to report past sexual offences.”
