PERRIE MORTIMER'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN FIFE: SEXUAL PREDATOR SENTENCED FOR MULTIPLE OFFENSES AT KIRKCALDY SHERIFF COURT
A man named Perrie Mortimer, aged 42, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of serious criminal acts committed in Fife, including a disturbing sexual assault at a local bus station. The incident involved a teenage girl, and the case has drawn significant attention due to the severity and pattern of Mortimer's offending behavior.
Mortimer's criminal record is extensive, with a history dating back to 2004, indicating a persistent pattern of offending.
His latest crimes include not only the sexual assault at the Fife bus station but also a sexual assault on a woman within his own residence.
Additionally, he has been found guilty of making threats to kill police officers and to rape their children, further highlighting the dangerous nature of his conduct.
During a court appearance at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Mortimer appeared from custody to enter a guilty plea on six charges.
These charges encompassed sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 15, three counts of threatening or abusive behavior, and assaulting police officers.
The court proceedings revealed the gravity of his offenses and the ongoing threat he poses.
Sheriff Grant McCulloch, presiding over the case, sentenced Mortimer to 43 months in prison.
In his remarks, the sheriff emphasized the seriousness of the crimes, stating, “This is a litany of serious and very serious offences.
You have got a permanent record since 2004 – there’s hardly a gap.
You are a serial offender and nothing that has been done in the past by way of community payback orders and supervision and the rest of it seems to have made any difference.” He further commented on Mortimer’s apparent opportunistic behavior, noting, “It seems to me you are just an opportunist – you see a female in a situation, like two of these charges, and take advantage.
There is no alternative to custody.” Representing Mortimer, defense lawyer Dewar Spence explained that his client had become isolated in the East Neuk area, which contributed to his problematic behavior.
Spence stated that Mortimer had turned to alcohol, often drinking alone, and as a result, found himself in a constant state of intoxication with limited social connections in the area.
As part of his sentence, Mortimer has been placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years.
He is currently detained at Glenochil prison, where he will serve his sentence and undergo further monitoring and assessment.
