WIDNES MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER TRAVELING TO THAILAND
A man who sexually assaulted a woman inside a hotel room and then left for Thailand has been found guilty and sentenced.
Paul Wright, 42 years old, committed the assault in the Sefton region on December 29, 2022.
Following the report from the victim, law enforcement launched an investigation which revealed that Wright, residing on Thomas Street in Widnes, had traveled to Thailand during this period.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was detained upon his return to the UK on January 17.
On April 10, Wright was convicted of sexual assault at Liverpool Crown Court and received a sentence of two and a half years in prison.
