DANGEROUS MAN JAILED FOR KNIFE ATTACK AND ROBBERY IN ABERDARE
A man deemed 'dangerous' stabbed his partner during a drug-fueled altercation, which also resulted in her friend sustaining injuries from the knife.Paul Roscoe, aged 38, severely injured Hayley Lustey at their friend Vivian Duval’s residence in Cardiff on June 18 of the previous year, requiring hospital care.
After consuming crack cocaine, Roscoe’s behavior changed; he seized a red kitchen knife and swung it around in front of Ms.
Lustey’s face, eventually striking her just below her left eye.
While on bail for this injury, Roscoe attempted to rob a house in Brynna, Rhondda Cynon Taf, on October 29 of the same year.
He was armed with a knife and threatened the homeowner, Daniel Williams, demanding the keys to his Audi vehicle.
Roscoe admitted to charges of section 18 wounding, assault causing actual bodily harm, and attempted robbery.
He received an extended sentence of 14 years — 10 years in prison with two-thirds to be served before parole eligibility, plus 4 years on license.
The court highlighted that he was on license for assaulting a fellow inmate with a pool cue at HMP Cardiff.
His reckless behavior, driven by not taking prescribed medication and drinking alcohol, was deemed to make him a dangerous individual likely to commit further crimes.
