May 2022 Pervert filmed himself raping schoolgirl A depraved paedophile that filmed himself raping and sexually abusing schoolgirls he had groomed and bribed with sweets and cash has been jailed A court heard how Paul Neave transferred the videos from a camera on to hard drives after he had used it to capture himself having sex with the young victims. They were later found by the police, more than a decade later when his horrific offending came to light, at a storage unit where the 51-year-old professional session musician had kept them. And in a victim impact statement one of the girls, now a woman and a mother, told how the defendant left her feeling “dirty, worthless and having no control over her feelings”. Handing him a 21-year sentence, Judge Jonathan Bennett said: “This is a case of indescribable depravity. The victims were all young children and you filmed yourself sexually abusing them. The videos were of the most horrific kind. “Your (pre-sentence) report is disturbing reading in regard to your attitude to the offending. You did not take full responsibility for the filming, there’s little or no remorse. I conclude there’s a significant risk you will commit further offences.” Ayanna Nelson, prosecuting at Derby Crown Court, sitting at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court, said the offending happened when Neave lived in Breaston, Derbyshire. She said the girls were raped, sexually abused and sometimes filmed by the defendant as he carried out his catalogue of gruesome offending. The prosecutor said: “He raped one victim and on the same day told a second ‘if you have sex with me I will give you some money’ then handed her £10 and told her to lie down. (After it was over) he got off, removed a camera and went to his computer room with it. “(Another victim) told how he would put the camera on the edge of the bed and after they had sex he would transfer it on to his computer.” Miss Nelson said matters came to light years later when one of the brave victims plucked up the courage to come forward, confided in her sister what Neave had done to her, a police investigation began and more victims were discovered. She said detectives went to a storage unit at a farm in Northamptonshire and made the grim discovery of the hard drives containing the videos he had taken more than 10 years previously. The prosecutor read out some of the impact statements made by the now adult victims. One said: “When the abuse was happening I did not know what to do, he told me I was a good girl. It is something that will always haunt me.” And a second said: “I felt that I could not speak to anyone because I was scared no-one would believe me. He told me it was okay to do what we were doing, it ruined my teenage life.” Neave, whose address was given as a farm at Winwick, near Crick, Northamptonshire, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of child rape, and sexual activity with a child. As well as the prison term, Judge Bennett placed Neave on the sex offender register for life and handed him a lifetime sexual harm prevention order. He also handed him a restraining order not to contact any of the victims also for life. Neave’s sentence is made up of a 16-year custodial sentence and a five-year extended licence. It means he will not be eligible to apply for parole until two-thirds of the way through the custodial element which is 12 years.
