October 2009 Sex beast caged for 1980s attacks A PERVERT who repeatedly molested a school-age girl during the 1980s has been jailed for six years.  Paul William Murphy, 38, admitted a string of horrific sex attacks. Murphy, of Denmark Road, Moss Side, was convicted of rape and sexual assault at Manchester Crown Court. His crimes started in 1983 when he began a campaign of attacks on his young victim which carried on over six years. The attacks happened in Chorlton. After Murphy was caged, Det Con Roger Jones, of the Child Abuse Investigation Team at Greater Manchester Police, said: “Over a period of many years, Murphy repeatedly subjected his victim, who was a young girl, to the most horrific ordeal. “He is clearly a very sick and dangerous individual who abused his victim for his own sexual gratification. “I hope this conviction will help, in some small way, put the terrible experiences behind her.”
