BATH MAN JAILED FOR SAVAGE MANSLAUGHTER OF FIANCÉE
Paul Keene, aged 32, was found guilty of manslaughter in the case of his fiancée, Carmen Miron-Buchacra, and received a prison sentence of seven years and four months at Bristol Magistrates' Court.Evidence during the trial showed that Keene had strangled Miss Miron-Buchacra inside their flat in Bath; the assault was characterized as 'savage' and lasted for several minutes, causing injuries across her face, arms, body, and legs.
Witness testimony indicated that her death was probably due to strangulation using an electric cable.
The presiding judge, Mr.
Justice Eder, remarked that the severity of the sentence reflected 'the horrifying circumstances which you inflicted' on her.
Although Keene was acquitted of her murder, the court established that he was responsible for her manslaughter.
It emerged that Keene delayed 75 minutes before informing police after the attack, which took place in the presence of their infant.
During the trial, the defense acknowledged psychological abuse in the relationship, including emotional manipulation, threats, and even a warning to take their child away, which they argued contributed to Keene losing control.
The judge paid tribute to Gaby as a 'beautiful woman' and noted the violence within their relationship when sentencing Keene to a lengthy prison term for her death.
