Oxton Child Sexual Abuser
A 62-year-old man named Paul Jones, residing on Davenham Avenue in Oxton, has been found guilty of sexually abusing a schoolboy. Jones initially gained the victim's trust by sharing common interests such as machinery and Formula One racing, and he took the boy on visits to racetracks, truck stops, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport. He exploited the child's vulnerability and sought to secure his exclusive attention through digital communication, becoming increasingly demanding and controlling. The court heard that Jones admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the boy, admitting to touching him sexually on two separate occasions at his home. The now adult victim described the lasting effects of the abuse, including feelings of stress, anxiety, guilt, and difficulties with sleep, which he said continue to impact his daily life and mental well-being.
