A man from a borough town who had earlier confessed to trying to initiate sexual communication with a minor and sharing an intimate picture of himself has had the latter charge dropped after changing his plea to not guilty.
Paul Holden, 39, of Hesketh Street, Atherton, had previously admitted to attempting to have a sexual conversation with a girl under 16 years old during June 16-22 and to sending the photo on June 22.
He also admitted to possessing cannabis, classified as a Class B drug, on July 15.
The case was forwarded to Bolton Crown Court for sentencing by magistrates in Wigan.
At that hearing, Holden was sentenced to a community punishment and restrictions on his internet and social media usage.
The charge of sharing the explicit image was subsequently discontinued when he entered a plea of not guilty.
No separate penalty was issued for the drug offence.
