MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD EXPLOITATION AND SEXUAL OFFENSES
Update: Paul Gorman died at HMP Kilmarnock on December 25, 2021.The 52-year-old was sentenced to 15 months at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in November 2015 after asking a 13-year-old girl to supply him with indecent images of herself.
Gorman was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
A Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) into his death will take place at Glasgow Sheriff Court on May 6.

Paul Gorman, a 46-year-old resident of Kilbirnie, has been sentenced to a term of 15 months in prison following his conviction on serious charges related to child exploitation and sexual misconduct.
The case against Gorman revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behaviour involving a young girl, who was only 13 years old at the time of the offenses.
According to court records, Gorman approached the young girl with the intent of obtaining explicit photographs.
He offered her a sum of £40 in exchange for the images, which she took while at her school.
This act of solicitation was part of a broader investigation that uncovered additional evidence of Gorman’s misconduct.
Police authorities conducted a thorough search of Gorman’s residence in Kilbirnie, where they discovered further material depicting child exploitation.
The evidence included images and videos that Gorman had taken of the girl, as well as other children, in various states of undress.
These findings underscored the extent of his involvement in child abuse and exploitation.
During the legal proceedings, Gorman admitted to taking indecent images not only of the 13-year-old girl but also of other minors.
His admissions confirmed the severity of his actions and the danger he posed to children.
As part of his sentencing, Gorman was also ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offenses.
