PAEDOPHILE PAUL DEMPSTER CAUGHT IN GLASGOW WITH DISTURBING FACEBOOK MESSAGES AND KISSING EIGHT-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In December 2016, a disturbing case unfolded in Glasgow involving Paul Dempster, a 49-year-old man whose actions have shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about child safety and online misconduct.It was revealed that Dempster was convicted after engaging in inappropriate behavior with an eight-year-old girl, which included kissing her on the lips between February and May 2013.
The incident came to light during a court trial where Dempster faced charges related to this misconduct.
Despite denying the assault charge, the jury at Glasgow Sheriff Court found him guilty based on compelling evidence presented during the proceedings.
The court was shown a recorded police interview from 2013, in which the young girl described Dempster’s inappropriate gestures, stating that he had given her hugs and kisses that were “on the cheek, on the lips.” This testimony was deeply distressing and highlighted the severity of his actions.
The case took a further disturbing turn when the court was read messages from social media, where Dempster had been communicating with the girl’s family.
Family members discovered messages on social media platforms, where Dempster referred to the girl affectionately as “babycakes” and expressed his longing for her, repeatedly asking her to call him.
These messages included numerous kisses sent via Facebook, further demonstrating his inappropriate interest and grooming behavior.
Dempster’s online communications also included him saying “love you” and continuing to call her “babycakes,” which added to the evidence against him.
In addition to the charges related to the girl, Dempster admitted to several other offences prior to the trial.
These included vandalism, specifically damaging the car belonging to the girl’s father in May 2013, and failing to appear in court in July 2014.
He also confessed to damaging property that did not belong to him, stalking a 20-year-old former colleague who had rejected his advances, driving without insurance or an MOT, and breaching bail conditions.
During the court proceedings, Sheriff Platt described Dempster’s actions as a “catalogue of serious and alarming” offences.
As a result, he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
The court deferred sentencing until later in the month, and Dempster was remanded in custody pending the final decision.
The case has left a lasting impact on the community in Glasgow, highlighting the ongoing issues of child protection and the dangers posed by online grooming and misconduct.
