Leeds Domestic Abuser
A man named Patrick Middleton, aged 34, has been sentenced to prison after a violent incident involving his ex-girlfriend. Middleton violently assaulted his victim by punching her multiple times and dragging her by the hair within her own home in Leeds. During the ordeal, he snorted cocaine over a period of five hours, at one point threatening to cut off her arms. He also took her phone's SIM card out and swallowed it before smashing the device. The incident was precipitated after Middleton sneaked into the woman's house armed with a knife just after she returned home from a night out with friends before Christmas. Middleton admitted to charges of causing actual bodily harm and was sentenced to two years in jail at Leeds Crown Court. His defense lawyer, Mark McKone, stated that Middleton "fell in love to such an extent that it caused him to behave irrationally."
