EXETER MAN PATRICK BREZOWSKY CAUGHT WITH AXE AND CS SPRAY IN PRINCESSHAY CAR PARK WHILE MEETING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Exeter, Patrick Brezowsky, a 22-year-old man from Canon Way, was apprehended after attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl for a sexual encounter in the heart of the city.The incident unfolded in the Princesshay shopping centre's car park, where police discovered a collection of dangerous weapons in his vehicle, raising serious concerns about his intentions and the potential threat he posed.
According to court reports, Brezowsky had engaged in online communication with the young girl, grooming her with the apparent aim of arranging a sexual meeting.
The police investigation revealed that he had planned to meet her in Exeter, a city known for its historic sites and bustling shopping districts.
When authorities stopped his car, they found a CS gas spray and an axe concealed in the vehicle, items that are considered highly dangerous and indicative of malicious intent.
At Exeter Crown Court, Brezowsky pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including meeting a child following sexual grooming and possession of offensive weapons.
The weapons found in his car included not only the axe and CS spray but also two flick knives, which are illegal to carry in public.
These items were discovered during a police search conducted on June 20, 2016, in Russell Way, Exeter, during an investigation into his online contacts with underage girls.
Further complicating the case, Brezowsky admitted to possessing these weapons during his arrest in November, when police were probing his previous attempts to contact minors online.
The court was informed that the weapons were stored in his vehicle at the time of his arrest, raising questions about his intentions and the level of danger he might have posed to the public.
Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, presided over the case and decided to adjourn proceedings to order a probation report.
The report will evaluate Brezowsky’s attitude towards his offences and assess the potential risk he may still pose to society.
The judge expressed concern over the case, stating, “This is an offender who causes me some concern.

Quite apart from the other features, he was arrested in June and weapons were found in his car when he was questioned about his contact with a teenaged girl.
He had more weapons in his car when he was arrested in November.” Prosecutor Miss Virginia Cornwall indicated that a victim impact statement from the 14-year-old girl is expected before the sentencing hearing scheduled for next month.
The case highlights the ongoing issues surrounding online grooming and the dangers posed by individuals like Brezowsky, who appear to have been prepared to use violence and intimidation to facilitate their criminal activities in Exeter.
