WOMAN ACCUSED OF HAMMER ATTACK WAITS FOR SENTENCING AMID COMPLEX LEGAL SAGA
Pamela Teasdale, 69, the woman accused of attacking her husband with a lump hammer, is awaiting sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court. She had been charged with attempting to murder Daniel Teasdale, 74, but admitted attempted wounding with intent.
The incident occurred at Burne Farm in Todwick on August 21, leaving Mr.
Teasdale with serious injuries.
The case was scheduled for Thursday but was postponed due to legal issues involving separate charges of stalking.
The court revealed that Ms.
Teasdale, who had pleaded guilty to stalking previously, sought to retract that plea after seeing the full case against her.
The background of the assault involves a complex dispute over a divorce settlement, with the victim being ordered to pay his wife £1.8 million, of which £800,000 has been paid.
The remaining amount is contested in court, and the family’s ongoing legal battles have incurred legal costs exceeding £1 million.
The judge described previous litigation over property and finances as 'one of the most regrettable pieces of litigation' they had encountered.
Pamela Teasdale is remanded in custody, with her solicitor planning to apply for bail, while the legal proceedings continue.
