Instead of the promised hope, these girls were subjected to a brutal form of modern-day slavery, where they were treated as commodities to be exploited sexually.
The trafficker's sinister plan extended beyond the UK borders, as he attempted to smuggle the victims into mainland Europe, including Italy and Spain, to be further exploited by organized gangs.
The case revealed that Osolase employed traditional West African juju rituals to instill fear and obedience in his victims.
One of the girls, only 14 years old, was among those manipulated through these dark ceremonies, which involved blood extraction, hair cutting, and oaths of silence.
These rituals were used as tools of intimidation, ensuring the girls remained compliant and silent about their ordeal.
The use of such rituals is a common tactic among Nigerian traffickers, who often leverage deeply rooted spiritual beliefs to control their victims.
During the trial at Canterbury Crown Court, the court heard that Osolase, who worked as a recycling worker on Beaumont Drive in Gravesend, had shown no remorse.
He was convicted on five counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation, as well as charges of rape and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
