BEDFORD MAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS FOR HARASSING AND ASSAULTING HIS EX-PARTNERS
A 36-year-old-year-old man has been sentenced to six years behind bars for violently assaulting and harassing two women.Orville Anderson Burgess of De Parys Avenue was found guilty of two counts of ABH, criminal damage, and harassment and was sentenced to six years at Luton Crown Court on Friday (29 April), with two years to be served on licence.
The court heard that on the early hours of Sunday, 12 September 2021, police received a call from the victims, both of whom had previously been in a relationship with Burgess, reporting that they had been assaulted.
Burgess had been continuously messaging one victim, threatening and threatening to come to her address with her children present.
He grabbed one victim by the throat and threw her on the floor during an assault, believing he was going to kill her.
The other victim, also a former partner, was shoved to the ground when she arrived at Burgess's flat.
Both women managed to escape to safety and called police.
Burgess was classed as a "danger to all future partners" and was also issued a restraining order not to contact either victim.
Detective Constable Joanna Tyrrell stated that Burgess is an "extremely violent and controlling man" whose behaviour will not be tolerated in the community.
