CHELMSFORD PAEDOPHILE OLIVER FLETCHER CAUGHT WITH HORRIFIC IMAGES AND SEXUAL FANTASIES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Chelmsford, Oliver Fletcher, a resident of Watchouse Road, was found to be in possession of highly disturbing and illegal images involving children and animals. The investigation into Fletcher’s activities began in November 2017 when police executed a search warrant at his home following intelligence from the National Crime Agency.
During the raid, authorities seized a silver laptop and a mobile phone, which later revealed a collection of indecent images.
Among these were photographs depicting a baby being sexually abused by an adult, as well as explicit material involving bestiality.
The severity of the content was classified as Category A, indicating the most serious level of illegal images.
Further examination of Fletcher’s devices uncovered search histories that included terms such as 'twink', 'bareback', and 'tumbler'.
The court clarified that the term 'twink' is often associated with indecent images of children, highlighting the disturbing nature of Fletcher’s online activity.
Additionally, investigators discovered that Fletcher had engaged in a WhatsApp conversation discussing sexual activity with an imaginary 13-year-old girl, a detail that added to the gravity of his offenses, although this particular conversation was not factored into his sentencing.
At a sentencing hearing held via video link at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, May 11, Fletcher, aged 29, pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
These included three counts of making indecent photographs, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Prosecutor Suki Dhadda confirmed that Fletcher’s devices contained images of the most severe category, emphasizing the disturbing nature of his collection.
Judge Tim Walker, presiding over the case, condemned Fletcher’s actions as 'despicable.' He pointed out that Fletcher had deliberately searched for and obtained these illegal images, which included a scene of a baby being sexually abused and a graphic image involving a man and a dog.
The judge underscored that such material is legally prohibited and that possession of such images is a serious crime.
In his remarks, Judge Walker highlighted the impact on victims, stating, 'There are victims in relation to each and every one of those photographed.
This is not a victimless crime.
They are children who have had their childhood ruined because of what has been done to them.' The court made it clear that society considers such offenses to be among the most serious due to their devastating effects.
Fletcher was sentenced to nine months in prison for the five counts of possessing illegal images.
However, this sentence was suspended for 18 months, meaning he will not serve time behind bars unless he commits another offense within that period.
As part of his sentence, Fletcher is required to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and 20 days of rehabilitation.
Additionally, he was placed under a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to monitor and restrict his future conduct.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of illegal and harmful material, and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable victims from exploitation and abuse.
