NIZAR IBRAHIM SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION IN CONGLETON AND STOKE

In a serious case that has sent shockwaves through the communities of Congleton and Stoke, Nizar Ibrahim, a resident of Repington Road, Sneyd Green, Stoke, was convicted of attempting to abduct two teenage girls and was subsequently sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. The incident, which took place on the evening of July 25, 2011, involved Ibrahim making two separate attempts to force young girls into his vehicle, raising concerns about safety and the prevalence of such dangerous behavior in the area.

According to court records, the first attempt occurred around 7:30 pm on Biddulph Road in Congleton. Ibrahim approached a 14-year-old girl, who was walking in the area, with the apparent intention of forcing her into his car. However, the girl managed to resist his efforts, breaking free from his grasp and fleeing to her home in a display of quick thinking and bravery. Less than an hour later, at approximately 8:45 pm, Ibrahim targeted a 16-year-old girl on Moody Street. He again attempted to pull her towards his vehicle, but she responded by striking Ibrahim in the face, breaking free from his hold, and running home to safety.

Following these alarming incidents, Ibrahim was swiftly apprehended by police officers in the Congleton area. His arrest was facilitated by the prompt response of law enforcement, which was aided significantly by the courageous actions of the two young victims. Detective Constable Michael Baron from Crewe CID emphasized the importance of the victims' bravery, stating, “It was only due to the quick thinking and brave actions of the young girls that Ibrahim was unable to pull them into his car. They have then been required to give evidence in Crown Court and it is to their credit that they have delivered their evidence in such daunting circumstances.”

Detective Baron further commented on Ibrahim’s dangerous nature, noting, “Ibrahim is clearly a dangerous man and only he knows what his intentions were when he tried to drag these girls into his car. Fortunately, incidents like this are rare and thanks to the information given by the victims and quick actions by the police, Ibrahim was located and arrested within the hour. I hope this sentence sends a message of reassurance to the residents of Congleton as to how serious both the police and the courts treat these matters.”
