Walton’s actions came to light after the victim, who was approximately 13 years old at the time, endured years of distress, anxiety, and shame as a result of the assault.
The incident involved Walton groping the boy in a shower, an act that he initially denied but later admitted to in court.
On the day his trial was scheduled to commence, Walton pleaded guilty to the charge of indecent assault.
Judge Peter Blair QC sentenced Walton to two years and three months in prison.

The court heard that Walton’s misconduct extended beyond the initial incident, with reports indicating that he would sometimes take boys back to his residence and engage in inappropriate activities.
