Tonypandy Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has shocked the local community, Nigel Wade Paddock, a 68-year-old resident of Tonypandy, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of a series of serious sexual offences. The conviction was handed down at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, June 16, following a trial in which Paddock maintained his innocence against all ten charges brought against him.

Prosecutors presented evidence that linked Paddock to multiple offences spanning a period from 2010 to 2015. The charges included grave allegations such as rape, sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activities, and engaging in sexual acts in the presence of a minor. The court heard that these disturbing incidents took place across different locations within the Rhondda and the Vale of Glamorgan, areas known for their close-knit communities but now shaken by this case.

Throughout the proceedings, Paddock, who was described by police as a “depraved paedophile,” denied all accusations. Despite his denials, the jury found him guilty of nine of the charges, leading to a significant custodial sentence. Judge Neil Bidder sentenced Paddock to a total of 15 years in prison, emphasizing the severity of his crimes. Additionally, the court imposed an extended licence period of one year, ensuring close monitoring after his release. Paddock will also be registered on the Sex Offender Register indefinitely, reflecting the ongoing concern for public safety and the protection of vulnerable individuals in the community.
