NIGEL LAMBERT'S SHOCKING LANCASHIRE ONLINE SEX OFFENDER CASE REVEALED
A man named Nigel Lambert, residing in Lancashire, has been at the center of a disturbing online grooming investigation that culminated in his court appearance in Liverpool.Lambert, aged 43, was found to have engaged in highly inappropriate and sexualized communications with what he believed to be underage girls, but in reality, these interactions were with undercover police officers tasked with infiltrating online child exploitation networks.
Lambert appeared before Liverpool Crown Court to face multiple serious charges, including four counts of attempted sexual communication with a minor and additional counts related to possessing indecent images of children, creating indecent images, and possessing extreme pornography involving animals.
The court proceedings shed light on the extent of his online misconduct and the measures taken by law enforcement to uncover such predatory behavior.
Prosecutor Christopher Taylor detailed how three of the communication offenses involved a police officer operating under the alias 'Zoe,' a 13-year-old girl, during conversations that took place between February 10 and 22, 2022.
These exchanges occurred on Kik Messenger, where Lambert used the username 'Bunnies' and claimed to be a 36-year-old man living near Manchester.
During these chats, 'Zoe' revealed her age as 13, prompting Lambert to ask if she would engage in sexual activities with an older man.
The conversations quickly turned explicit, with Lambert inquiring about her sexual experiences, her relationship status, and her ability to kiss.
In one particularly disturbing exchange, Lambert told 'Zoe' that he was the 'right person' for her if she was willing to have sex.
He also asked about her schoolwork, then expressed a need for kisses, while revealing that he was playing with his penis, which he described as 'big.' The defendant then sent explicit images and a video, asking if she was 'turned on' by them.
He further sent a video of a man performing a sex act, claiming it was himself, and asked if she could send similar material back.
The investigation also involved a second undercover officer posing as 'Georgia,' another 13-year-old girl, on the platform Chatiw and later on Snapchat.
Lambert's messages to 'Georgia' included questions about her sexual arousal and explicit images, including a photograph of an erect penis.
These interactions further demonstrated his predatory intent and willingness to engage in sexualized conversations with minors.
Lambert was arrested at his former residence on Longdin Street in Latchford on December 8, 2022.
During police interviews, he chose not to comment on the allegations.
Authorities seized his mobile phone, which was subsequently examined.
The analysis revealed the presence of two category B indecent images of children and two extreme pornographic images involving animals, confirming his possession of illegal material.
Representing Lambert in court, his defense lawyer Gerald Baxter acknowledged his client's guilty pleas to all charges.
Baxter emphasized Lambert's previous good character, noting that he had no prior convictions.
The lawyer also highlighted Lambert's remorse and shame over his actions, asserting that he was deeply embarrassed and relieved that no actual children had been harmed.
Additionally, Baxter pointed out that Lambert was employed in a good job and lived in private accommodation, both of which could be at risk if he were to be imprisoned immediately.
Before sentencing, Judge Brian Cummings addressed the court, noting that Lambert's offenses were attempts rather than completed acts, as the 'children' he communicated with were actually police officers.
The judge expressed concern over Lambert's apparent lack of genuine remorse, stating that his denial of any sexual interest in children was unrealistic and indicative of a level of denial.
Despite this, the judge acknowledged Lambert's potential for rehabilitation and decided to suspend his sentence, believing that intensive intervention could protect the public and aid his rehabilitation.
As a result, Lambert, now residing on Wellington Road in Preston, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation activities, sign the sex offender register for ten years, and adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
Furthermore, an order was made to deprive him of his mobile phone, and he was required to comply with all conditions set forth by the court to mitigate future risks to children and the community.
