WORTHING SEX OFFENDER NIGEL JACKSON JAILED AGAIN OVER CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN WORTHING

In a disturbing case that has once again brought the spotlight onto the actions of Nigel Jackson, a man from Worthing with a troubling history of sexual offenses, the courts have handed down a significant prison sentence following the discovery of indecent images of children on his electronic devices.

Nigel Jackson, aged 59 and a self-employed tutor residing in Western Place, Worthing, had previously been sentenced earlier this year for voyeurism. His initial conviction came after he was found guilty of secretly observing another individual at his residence without their consent, an act committed for his own sexual gratification. This first sentence, handed down at Hastings Magistrates Court on Monday, March 13, resulted in a six-month imprisonment.

However, the police investigation into Jackson’s activities did not end there. During the initial arrest in January, authorities seized his computers for forensic analysis. It was during this examination that they uncovered a far more disturbing collection of material. The forensic experts discovered that Jackson’s devices contained numerous indecent images, which prompted further investigation and ultimately led to additional charges.

Jackson was released from prison in April but was arrested again just three days later. Following his re-arrest, police formally charged him with possession of indecent images of children. The case was brought before the court once more, and on Wednesday, May 31, Jackson appeared at Hastings Magistrates Court to face these new allegations.

During the hearing, PC Steven Hargrave of Sussex Police provided details of the case. He stated that Jackson pleaded guilty to possessing a total of 386 indecent images of children, along with an extreme pornographic image. The police forensic team’s investigation revealed that Jackson’s laptop and hard drive contained traces of nearly a thousand indecent images and videos, many of which appeared to have been downloaded from the internet but subsequently deleted. The evidence indicated that Jackson had viewed and downloaded numerous videos featuring child victims, some of which were explicitly identified as involving minors.

As a result of these findings, the court sentenced Jackson to a total of 20 months in prison. The sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the extensive nature of the material involved. In addition to his imprisonment, the court imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that will remain in effect indefinitely. This order prohibits Jackson from engaging in any form of teaching, severely restricting his access to young people, and limiting his use of computers and mobile phones.

Furthermore, Jackson has been designated as a registered sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further offenses. The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child exploitation material, and highlights the importance of rigorous investigation and sentencing in protecting vulnerable individuals from harm.
