MANCHESTER MAN JAILED FOR ATTACK ON PARTNER IN FRONT OF THEIR BABY
A man who assaulted and choked his partner in front of their infant was told he was fortunate not to face more severe legal penalties.Nico Noicely, aged 31, carried out the attack inside her residence during a particularly vicious episode, Manchester Crown Court was told.
The incident in July of the previous year involved Noicely punching, kicking, and constricting his partner.
The couple had been involved in an on-off relationship for approximately three and a half years after meeting through a dating website.
It was also revealed that they had a son together, born in February that year, though their relationship was marred by difficulties.
During a moment when Noicely 'lost control' at her Manchester home, he woke their child during his assault on the woman.
He punched her in the face while she was holding the baby, then later placed his hands around her throat to strangle her.
He also delivered multiple kicks to her back, ribs, and face.
Additionally, he struck her with a pipe taken from a washing machine.
Despite being hit again, she was able to call emergency services.
After the assault, Noicely attempted to barricade the front door to prevent police entry, but officers managed to break in and subsequently sectioned him.
The victim felt a sense of relief that the relationship had ended but also voiced concern that he might commit further violence upon release.
He received a two-year prison sentence after admitting to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
