NICHOLAS FLOWER GROOMS 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN GLOUCESTER AND MAKES INDECENT IMAGES
A man named Nicholas Flower, aged 53, who previously held the position of head of IT at a private school in Gloucester, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after engaging in a disturbing case of online grooming and possession of indecent images of children.
Over the course of a week, Flower used social media platforms to groom a 13-year-old girl, employing various tactics to conceal his identity by changing his name multiple times.
His actions demonstrated a calculated effort to evade detection while establishing a disturbing online relationship with the young girl.
During a Skype call, Flower exposed the girl to pornographic material, further coercing her to send explicit images of herself.
His manipulative behavior was uncovered when authorities tracked his IP address, leading to the discovery of over 150 indecent images stored on his devices.
Among these images was a particularly troubling one involving a young girl under the age of 13.
Flower admitted to the charges against him and expressed remorse for his actions.
Despite his acknowledgment, the severity of his breach of trust was emphasized by the presiding judge, Jane Humphryes.
She described his conduct as 'very serious,' noting that he had a 'respectable background' and had undergone some form of rehabilitation prior to his arrest.
In addition to his prison sentence, Flower will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the ongoing risk he poses to the community in Gloucester.
