TAXI DRIVER STALKED WOMAN AFTER MEETING HER 30 YEARS LATER IN TESCO
A taxi driver, Neil Shand, 52, stalked a woman after meeting her in Tesco 30 years after they previously worked together in a local hotel.
He sent unwanted letters, cards, and gifts, and persisted in contacting her despite police warnings.
After a chance meeting in Tesco, Shand began to pester her, including putting a birthday card through her door and posting notes about mundane matters.
He claimed he lost the love of his life seven years prior and told her not to be afraid.
She contacted police, and Shand was warned not to contact her again.
However, in December last year, she received a further letter with more sinister content.
She pled guilty to engaging in conduct causing fear or alarm in Rosyth between June 26 and December 11 last year.
Sheriff Krista Johnston sentenced him to 55 hours of unpaid work, with a lifelong contact ban already imposed.
