GLASGOW OFFENDER GETS LENIENT SENTENCE FOR EXPLOITATION AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Neil McDougall, a 58-year-old married quantity surveyor, was caught posting sexually suggestive images of female colleagues on social media and was found with indecent images of children.
He secretly took 35 images using a company mobile phone between January 2021 and March 2024, posting them on Twitter with sexual captions and hashtags.
An ex-colleague discovered these images after finding McDougall's social media accounts, which also included a video of him performing a sex act in an office bathroom with a pair of high heels belonging to a colleague.
McDougall was dismissed from his job at a Glasgow-based construction firm after his victims were recognized from his social media posts.
Authorities later found he possessed a further 147 indecent images of children as young as one, which was reported to police.
During court proceedings, McDougall pleaded guilty to threatening behavior and possessing indecent images of children.
The judge ordered him to perform 300 hours of unpaid work, place him on supervised release for two years, and register as a sex offender.
The sheriff noted his disappointment, emphasizing that McDougall had let himself and his family down, and highlighted the harm caused to his victims, stating, "It doesn't get worse than this."
