MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE OFFENCES

A 44-year-old man from Belfast has received a court sentence for multiple child sexual abuse crimes carried out against a young girl over a span of three years, along with child cruelty and abuse charges involving two young girls and a young boy over a period of five years.

Neil Jackson was sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison, with the first 10 years to be served behind bars and the remaining 10 years on license.

He is also to be registered permanently as a sex offender against children.

Jackson faced convictions for 45 separate charges involving three victims aged between five and thirteen.

These offences include the rape of a child under the age of 13, as well as common assault and other serious sexual crimes.
