POWYS MAN'S CHILD SEX OFFENCES CASE SENT TO MOLD CROWN COURT
A POWYS man accused of sexual activity with a child has seen his case sent to the crown court, due to its serious nature.
Neil Jackman, 55, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 6, where magistrates immediately sent his case to Mold Crown Court.
Jackman, of Caerhowel Meadows, Caerhowel, near Montgomery, faces two charges, including attempting to cause a girl, aged 13-15, to engage in sexual activity.
This offence, which is indictable only, meaning it can only be heard at the higher court, is alleged to have occurred on July 29, 2022.
Jackman is also charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between the dates of June 6 and August 4, 2022.
Magistrates adjourned the case and told Jackman that he must appear at Mold on February 6.
