NEIL BROWN'S SHOCKING CRIME IN CHESTERFIELD: SEXUAL ACT WITH MUFFIN AND OFFER TO GIRL AT DERBY CROWN COURT
In June 2021, a disturbing incident involving Neil Brown, a resident of Chesterfield, came to light during a court hearing at Derby Crown Court. The case revealed a deeply unsettling act committed by Brown, which has left a lasting impact on the victim and the community alike.
According to court proceedings, Neil Brown, aged 40, engaged in a highly inappropriate and obscene act involving a muffin.
After performing the act, he proceeded to offer the contaminated cake to a young girl, who initially accepted the gesture without understanding the gravity of what had transpired.
It was only after Brown left that the girl decided to open the muffin and discovered the vulgar behavior that had taken place.
The court was informed that the incident occurred on the evening of November 25, 2017.
The victim, whose identity remains protected, was prompted to call her mother after noticing something was amiss with the muffin.
Her mother then took the cake to a police station for investigation.
The police quickly responded to the situation, and Brown was arrested shortly thereafter.
During police interviews, Neil Brown admitted to the actions he had committed.
It was revealed that he had no prior convictions, but the severity of his behavior led to significant consequences.
Brown was employed at a firm for the past 15 years, but upon learning of his arrest, his employer terminated his employment, reflecting the serious repercussions of his conduct.
In court, Brown pleaded guilty to charges of sexual activity in the presence of a child.
The judge, Fletcher, sentenced him to a 10-month jail term, which was suspended for 18 months.
As part of his sentence, Brown was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and attend 30 rehabilitation sessions with the probation service.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offender register for a period of 10 years and issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
During a victim impact statement read aloud in court, the young girl expressed her distress, stating: “I feel sick at the thought of what I could have bitten into.
When I go out for meals I get nervous and when I eat I sometimes feel sick.
At first it did affect my school work but I have got better now time has gone on.” Judge Fletcher condemned Brown’s actions as reprehensible, emphasizing the impact on his personal and professional life.
The judge acknowledged that Brown’s probation report indicated he did not pose a risk to the general public and that there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
Nonetheless, the court made it clear that such behavior is unacceptable and that the suspended sentence was appropriate given the circumstances.
