Cambridge man jailed for threatening ex-partner and vowing with a knife

Nathan Thomas was involved in a threatening incident with his former partner, leading to his incarceration. The event took place when Thomas visited the victim’s residence in Waterbeach, South Cambridgeshire, unannounced at approximately 9:30 pm on Saturday, April 6. Despite multiple requests to leave, Thomas refused to do so and later fled the scene carrying a knife, after the victim called emergency services. Subsequently, he continued to intimidate the victim through phone calls and threatening voicemails until April 10, which was a Wednesday. On August 12, Thomas appeared before Cambridge Crown Court and admitted to charges of harassment causing fear of violence, specifically breaching a previously suspended sentence. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison. There is also a related burglary charge, which Thomas has denied, and this will be kept on record. Detective Constable Timothy Taylor described the incident as a horrifying ordeal for the victim and expressed support for the prison sentence, highlighting the police's commitment to tackling domestic abuse.
