A man aged 35, hailing from Eastleigh, has been handed a significant prison sentence of seven years after being convicted of historic child sex offences. Nathan Anthony Savory, whose address is listed as Chamberlayne Road in Eastleigh, appeared before Southampton Crown Court last Friday, February 16th, where he was sentenced following his conviction on four counts of sexual offences committed against a minor.
His conviction was the result of a trial that concluded on December 8th, 2023, when the court found him guilty of all four charges. The offences in question occurred over a two-year period, from March 16th, 2011, to March 16th, 2013, within the town of Eastleigh. The first of these incidents involved a young girl who was only 13 years old at the time.
In addition to his prison term, Savory will be subject to a restraining order, which will restrict his contact with the victim and potentially others, as well as a Sexual Harm Prevention Order designed to monitor and prevent any further offending behavior. His sentence includes a primary term of seven years for one of the counts, with the remaining three counts being served concurrently for a total of 54 months.
The crimes only came to light many years later, when the victim, who was 23 at the time, decided to report the incidents to the police in 2021. She revealed that she had delayed reporting the offences earlier due to threats made by Savory, which had intimidated her into silence for years. Her courage in coming forward has led to his conviction and subsequent imprisonment, bringing some measure of justice for the young girl who suffered at his hands in Eastleigh.
