FIFE MAN NATHAN OGILVIE CAUGHT FILMING SEXUAL ABUSE AND POSSESSING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN GLENROTHES
In December 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Nathan Ogilvie, a 25-year-old resident of Fife, who was found to have committed heinous acts of child abuse and possession of indecent images.Ogilvie was apprehended after authorities uncovered evidence that linked him to the uploading of thousands of indecent images and videos from his home in Glenrothes.
The investigation was sparked by intelligence reports indicating that a device located within Ogilvie’s residence was being used to upload illicit material.
This led police to conduct a thorough search of his property, where they discovered a disturbing collection of digital content.
Among the items found were numerous indecent images and videos, some of the most severe and explicit content, stored on his devices.
Further probing revealed that Ogilvie had engaged in the sexual abuse of a young girl over a period of three and a half years, ending on January 30 of the current year.
He admitted to repeatedly forcing the girl to watch pornography and to engaging in sexual acts with her.
The court heard that Ogilvie had also been involved in creating or allowing the creation of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between June 13, 2016, and January 30 of this year.
During the court proceedings at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, it was disclosed that Ogilvie had used threats and violence to control the young girl.
She recounted that he would lock her in his bedroom and threaten to punch, choke, twist her arm, or tie her up.
Despite these threats, she attempted to defend herself by biting him or pulling his hair whenever she could.
Investigators confirmed that Ogilvie had begun grooming the girl when she was just seven years old, often buying her presents as part of his manipulative behavior.
The case also revealed a disturbing pattern of coercion and abuse, with Ogilvie’s devices containing a vast array of illicit material.
Ogilvie is currently detained in Perth and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 23.
A victim impact statement is expected to be presented to the court before the sentencing, which will shed further light on the profound effect his actions have had on the young girl involved.
