MUHAMED ENWAR FADHLALLAH SENTENCED IN SCARBOROUGH FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT

A 19-year-old man named Muhamed Enwar Fadhlallah from Queen Street, Scarborough, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a vulnerable woman in Scarborough in November 2023.

The incident was observed and recorded by a council CCTV operator, who noticed Fadhlallah loitering and watching groups of women before engaging in inappropriate contact. The court heard that Fadhlallah approached a woman in her 40s, who had been drinking and lying on the ground. Despite her friend indicating they did not need assistance, Fadhlallah moved towards the woman, lifted her, and then cuddled and stroked her.

CCTV evidence showed Fadhlallah deliberately touching the woman’s breasts over her clothing on multiple occasions. Police responded after the scene was reported, arresting and questioning Fadhlallah. He denied the sexual assault during questioning but was later convicted of the offence.

York Crown Court sentenced Fadhlallah on Tuesday, April 8, to 16 months' imprisonment. He was also placed on the Register of Sex Offenders for five years. The court recognized Fadhlallah as a dangerous predator who targeted a vulnerable woman for his own sexual gratification. The court also commended the victim’s bravery in supporting the prosecution.

Fadhlallah was acquitted of another charge of raping a different woman.
