MOUHOUB BENNAFA'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN DUBLIN: HORSE RIDER PERFORMS LEWD ACT AND THREATENS WITH ROCK
In a series of disturbing incidents that took place in Dublin, Mouhoub Bennafa, aged 44, was involved in acts that have shocked the local community and led to serious legal consequences.The first incident occurred on the evening of August 9, 2010, along Springfield Lane in Carrickmines, where a young woman out riding her horse encountered Bennafa in a highly inappropriate and indecent act.
She reported that she saw him engaging in a lewd act, which she described as him performing a sexual act in a public space.
The woman was reportedly 'pretty shocked' by what she witnessed, noting that Bennafa had exposed himself entirely.
She immediately returned to the nearby stables to inform others about what she had seen, and subsequently, the Gardaí were called to investigate the matter.
Remarkably, the following day, August 10, 2010, the same woman encountered Bennafa again while driving along Springfield Lane.
She observed him standing sideways at a gate, but she could clearly see him moving his hand in a manner that confirmed the lewd behavior from the previous day.
She expressed her horror at witnessing this again, emphasizing that Springfield Lane is a busy area frequented by many children, which heightened her concern about the exposure and the potential impact on the community.
Adding to the disturbing pattern, a second woman came forward, confirming that she also saw Bennafa performing a lewd act on August 10.
She described the act as 'pretty obvious' and expressed her shock at witnessing such behavior in a public setting.
The reports from these witnesses painted a troubling picture of public indecency involving Bennafa in the Dublin area.
Further escalation occurred on August 11, when a third witness, a motorist passing along Springfield Lane, observed a scene of chaos involving Bennafa.
According to this witness, Bennafa was present with an individual on a horse and another man.
The witness stated that Bennafa was swinging a rock around aggressively and threatening the man on the horse, telling him he would 'rape him in the bushes.' The Gardaí were called to the scene, and by the time they arrived, Bennafa had thrown the rock into a nearby bush to dispose of it.
Garda Bernard Dunne described Bennafa as being quite agitated during the encounter, and noted that he told the officers to 'f*** off' when approached.
Following these incidents, Mouhoub Bennafa was brought before Dun Laoghaire District Court, where he faced multiple charges.
He was found guilty of two counts of public indecency, stemming from the lewd acts observed by the witnesses.
Additionally, he was convicted of threatening and abusive behavior, as well as possession of a rock used in the threatening incident.
The court proceedings revealed the seriousness of his actions and the impact on the community.
Judge John Lindsay adjourned sentencing until December to allow for the preparation of a probation report, indicating that further legal considerations and potential rehabilitative measures are to follow.
